Acara Pengumuman Nominasi dan Pemenang Grammy Awards ke-64 tahun 2022 baru saja selesai diselenggarakan pada Minggu 3 April 2022 di MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas.
Nama-nama besar mengisi daftar nominasi tahun ini termasuk BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Jon Batiste, dan Billie Eilish. Jon Batiste memimpin dengan 11 nominasi dalam berbagai kategori seperti Record of the Year, Album of the Year, hingga Best Traditional R&B Performance. Sementara Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, dan H.E.R. masing-masing mendapat 8 nominasi.
Billie Eilish dan Olivia Rodrigo berada di peringkat ketiga dengan nominasi terbanyak yaitu 7 nominasi. Ini merupakan kali pertama Olivia Rodrigo dinominasikan dalam Grammy setelah sukses Drivers Lisence.
Ajang bergengsi untuk insan musik dunia itu dibuka oleh penampilan Silk Sonic dengan 777. Tidak lama kemudian, BTS membuat penonton bersorak. Butter dibawakan membuat suasana semakin panas.
Di tengah acara, ada Presiden Ukraina Volodymyr Zelenskyy muncul di Grammy Awards 2022. Ia memberikan pidato yang direkam sebelumnya di tengah perang dengan Rusia.
Persaingan mendapatkan piala juga tidak kalah panasnya. Olivia Rodrigo dan Foo Fighters sama-sama mengoleksi tiga piala Grammy 2022. Sedangkan Silk Sonic punya lebih banyak, yaitu total empat piala Grammy 2022.
Olivia Rodrigo mendapatkan piala tersebut dari kategori Best New Artist, Best Pop Solo Performance dan Best Pop Vocal Album. Silk Sonic yang begitu berjaya mendapatkan piala dari kategori Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best R&B Performance dan Best R&B Song.
